PLAN OF ACTION
5 Step Plan
The NSA has used the interned to unlawfully spy on Americans for an elongated time period. Americans no longer feel safe on social media and this is a problem because people no longer act the same on social media. The first step to take in this plan of action will be to make sure the agents are following the rules. Too many of them break the law to catch what they think may be "terrorists." The NSA is not consistent of the rules and this needs to change.
The second step in this plan should be to prosecute the members of the NSA that break the law with surveillance methods. The fourth amendment protects our right to have privacy. No matter how much they may need to catch a terrrorist they shouldnt go to the extreme measures by violating their own people to do so.
More people need to report the situations that happen with the NSA spying. The NSA has a hotline that you can reach to report unlawful behavior that you may not agree with. Most people may not know this but they need to be aware of the situation. Some may be too scared to report to officials or speak out because it could put a target on their back. The president has looked to the federal judges to monitor the NSA officials.
The congress should get more involved in being informed about the activity of the NSA. They should hold occasional congressional hearings so that most of them become aware of the situation. Only a third of the congress are usually aware, and more need to if there will be a balance of power.
The foreign intelligence surveillance act should be amended if there will be a balance between security and the rights of the American people. There is no trust in our intelligence program because of such unconstitutional acts. The agents should also receive better training so that they are able to respect peoples rights, something that cannot be done if there are no boundaries.
